Hi, I’m Eilish Collins Main and I am running for State Representative as a Democrat to represent the 146th district.

Connecticut’s 146th State House District is the heart of Stamford, comprising downtown Stamford, the South End, Harbor Point, and Shippan.

As a child of immigrants and a longtime resident of Stamford, I am a proud first-generation Irish American. With a thirty year business career in EdTech management, marketing, and business development, I bring substantial expertise to serving in the legislature as a strategic thinker, consensus builder, and skilled negotiator.

As a working Mom to 3 grown children, I am also an active member of the Stamford community, focused on the issues that are important to the dynamic and diverse constituents of the 146th District. Issues like the cost of living, addressing the pressing issues of affordable, high quality child care, workforce housing and our dynamic transportation and traffic infrastructure to make downtown Stamford more liveable and a thriving city for all residents.

My lifelong commitment to giving back to our Stamford community includes volunteering for organizations that serve those on the margins, including Building One Community, the Police Activities League PAL ART program, and the outreach programs at St. Francis Episcopal church.  I understand from committed engagement in our Stamford community that what people need is a “hand up, not a hand out”.

I am a strong community leader and an active volunteer for the Stamford DCC having proactively run campaigns to support both state and local elected candidates, and important public information, bipartisan initiatives. I also volunteer and serve the City of Stamford as a Personnel Commissioner.

What we need in Hartford to represent the 146 is an experienced leader with a demonstrated passion for service, and a life of lived experiences to lean into to help craft meaningful, responsive legislation that serves the needs of the people in the heart of Stamford.
