“The Greater Stamford Young Democrats are excited to formally endorse nearly a dozen local public servants stepping up to make a difference throughout the region. On a wide range of issues — like strengthening reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights, making college and housing more affordable, creating an fairer economy for working families, addressing economic and racial injustice, uplifting historically underrepresented communities, tackling the climate crisis, and prioritizing constituent services — is a testament to how these Democrats are committed to working for the people and communities they serve,” said GSYD President Alisson Meza. “We are confident that both young people in our area and all residents will be served well by this group of experienced incumbents and qualified newcomers.”
“On a regular basis, we hear from young people in our area who express interest in getting civically engaged so we are excited to help make that opportunity a reality,” said GSYD Executive Vice President Geraldine Uribe. “In a few years, Millennials and Gen Z will be the biggest voting bloc. However, we aren’t waiting to have an impact. We know what’s at stake this election cycle and we aren’t going to sit on the sidelines when so many important issues are on the ballot.”
