STAMFORD — Eilish Collins Main has defeated state Rep. David Michel in the 146th state House District's Democratic primary, according to unofficial results posted to the Secretary of the State's website.

Collins Main garnered 548 votes compared with Michel's 435, the results showed.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Jacobson easily won the Democratic primary in the 148th state House District over incumbent Anabel Figueroa, according to unofficial results.

Members of the Stamford Democratic City Committee endorsed Jacobson and Collins Main over the two incumbent representatives in May. Figueroa and Michel forced primary elections by gathering signatures from registered Democrats in their districts.

Michel has represented the 146th District, which includes Shippan, the South End and much of downtown, since 2019.

Collins Main had been involved in state and local Democratic campaigns before she became a candidate herself this year.

"I want to thank the voters of the 146th District for putting their faith in me," she said in a statement Tuesday night. "It wasn’t an easy decision to run, but they have now indicated it was the right one. We must address the issues that matter to them, including affordability, quality of life and education, and I pledge to do just that. For now, it’s on to November where I hope to once again earn the support of voters throughout our community."

Michel did not return a request for comment.
